Treasurer

Wolsingham Wayfarers are currently seeking a Treasurer.

The role of Treasurer is to maintain an overview of the organisation's financial transactions (mainly cheques and bank transfers), and ensure that financial records are maintained.

As we are a small charity, financial transactions are limited to around 1 per month. Therefore this role would suit someone with a basic understanding of Microsoft Excel (or similar), and an understanding of basic budgeting.

(The Treasurer role forms part of our charity's Executive Committee and therefore candidates must be eligible to sit on a charity committee).

Volunteering Opportunities

We are currently seeking to expand our Footpath Repair Team.

The Footpath Repair Team take an active part in maintaining the Public Rights of Way (PROW) in the area. The team work closely with landowners and local bodies to carry out remedial work such as repairing broken stiles, replacing missing waymarker signs, and clearing blocked routes.

Occasionally the Footpath Repair Team will assist a contractor in carrying out larger scale projects such as replacing stiles.

The role would suit an active person who could spare a couple of hours each month using basic repair skills.

To enable the Wolsingham Wayfarers charity to best serve the community, we rely on input from a broad spectrum of individuals and organisations. Therefore, we always have opportunities for individuals to join our committee and have an input into helping the Charity achieve its aims.

Committee Members contribute by attending Committee Meetings (approximately once every 2 months) and provide feedback to the Executive Committee on walks, footpath conditions, and all other walking related matters to ensure the smooth functioning of the group therefore helping to ensure that our general aims are met.

The role provides an ideal opportunity for someone wishing to join us for the first time and to see how we work before potentially assuming a more specific role in the future.
